Harness the festive feel-good factor, send sales soaring sky high and have yourself a busy little Avon Christmas.
Get your business online;
Share your My Avon Store so your customers shop 24/7 throughout each campaign, not just during the window when you deliver your brochure. Facebook is a really easy way to promote your business, show customers new products and gently remind customers when their orders are due in. Start a Facebook business page and invite your customers to join.
Start early;
Sales pick up in September, with C15, as children go back to school and the weather turns autumnal. Early-bird buyers are out in force! Send out brochures with a note saying: ‘Start to spread the cost of Christmas now! Let me help with your Christmas shopping.’
Flag-up festive products;
The sale leaflets are full of products that make nice stocking fillers, so make sure customers see those. Recommend any exciting new Christmas products. This year I love the Brand Edits in the middle of the brochures, they are going to send sales rocketing with favourite brands and hand-picked designs at exclusive prices.
Remember the three Rs: recanvas, recanvas, recanvas!;
Visit and recanvas ALL your territory, as some customers only buy at Christmas. Make sure any offices and shops you cover year-round have extra brochures.
Create a party mood;
Christmas brings fun and excitement to the brochures and a party atmosphere to selling. Capitalise on this by rethinking how you sell. If you generally sell door-to-door, why not try inviting your customers to a Christmas coffee morning at your house. Demonstrate new products, serve Christmassy drinks and mince pies and paint nails in festive colours. Your customers will love it!!
Incentivise customers;
Put extra order forms in each brochure and if a customer gets a friend to order, too, they both get 10% off. All orders over £30 also receive a free gift, which you can purchase from the First Look clearance. Christmas hand cream or bubble bath are great ideas to use.
Be super organised;
Make sure you have enough order forms and bags in the run up. Order extra brochures as far in advance as possible for regular customers and recanvassing, too. Throughout the year, buy treats from the clearance magazines then give them as Christmas gifts, with a hand-written card, to special customers. Jewellery is ideal.
Time it right;
To maximise sales, it’s crucial to work out the ordering and delivery dates in advance. Also why not give out brochure 18 again with brochure 1, this will be the last time your customers can order before Christmas.
Perfect your presentation;
Use a paper bag that’s slightly bigger than necessary, so it folds neatly. It never looks good to cram everything into a small bag. Then spritz it with the latest fragrance – it’s a nice touch, and it makes your car smell lovely when you’re delivering, too!
Prompt customers to browse brochures;
Put a list in the brochure of what pages the Christmas gifts are on – For Her see pages …. to …. – For Him see pages …. to … – For Kids see pages ….to….
Gift wrap;
If you are super organised, why not offer a free gift wrapping service if customers spend over a certain amount. Gift wrap and accessories can be bought cheaply at Pound land type shops.
Late orders;
Remember that additional orders are now often delivered within 72 hours and additional express if placed before 10am will be next day.
Social media;
Facebook is a popular social media site and a Facebook business page can be a great asset to advertise your Christmas brochures. Have you thought though about using Instagram and Pinterest, both are great sites for advertising visual products.
Strap lines to use;
‘Lots to love this Christmas with Avon’
‘Christmas shopping made easy with Avon’
Seasonal customers;
Remember to drop brochures to the people that don’t buy all year around, they will buy from Avon now to avoid the Christmas rush and going into crowded shops. Leave them your online store address as it may tempt them to buy more regularly.
